About a year ago I was going through lots of changes. I had just landed a new job and was 2 months away from marrying my sweet husband. With all of the changes that were taking place in my life I could feel my stress level increasing. Now, I have always been a person who REALLY needs exercise to stay mentally healthy so when the stress continued to persist - I knew that I needed to make time for exercise in my daily life. Believe it or not, it had been so long that I had no idea how to start again. It sounds ridiculous to say that I had forgotten how to exercise (not far from the truth) but let's just say that I was definitely out of practice. Going for a run after work seemed like the obvious choice for getting started but it had been so long that I was embarrassed to be seen "running" with a red face where people might actually see me.
Around that time I received an email from a friend about a new pilates home studio. I had never gone to a home studio before and found the idea particularly interesting. Realizing that I had nothing to lose I gave it a shot and attended my first ever pilates class at Bend Pilates. When I arrived to the studio, I was unsure of which door to go to and so I ended up in the laundry room where I found Carrie (the owner). She didn't miss a beat and right away we got to work. The class was really fun and I could appreciate Carrie's sincere approach to teaching.
Immediately, I loved pilates and how it made me feel. I have been attending pilates classes for a year now. In fact, I received my personal anniversary email in my inbox a couple of days ago! Not only has Bend Pilates provided me with a supportive environment in which to exercise but I have also found an incredible group of supportive women with whom I can grow personally.
A month ago Bend Pilates celebrated its one year anniversary. To commemorate the event, Carrie invited all of us over to her home for an Anniversary Party. The night was filled with good friends, great food, drinks, give-aways, lots of laughter, and happy tears. Everyone had a wonderful time. Be sure to check out the photos below!
The event also acted as an impromptu networking event for all of the entrepreneur women present. Feel free to check out some of these businesses at the links below!
